Over the summer the University decided to develop an audit for all of Greek life on campus. The audit is essentially a new set of guidelines that Greek life organizations on campus must follow. Joe Comeau, Students Center and Activities director, claims that the audit will set standards that will allow membership rosters to be more available. He also hopes that this will open up communication between SCA and the chapters and individual members of the chapters. Fraternities and Sororities now have to follow certain requirements for the audit including making grade reports and reports on social activities. The Greek community is cooperating with the audit thus far. Joe Comeau hopes that the new standards will ensure that fraternities and sororities act ethically and morally. It is also a way to make sure that organizations are respecting the university community. All groups are required to comply with the audit criteria by April 1, 2006.
